The Quilt Guild of Metro Detroit was established in 1980 to promote cooperation and interchange of ideas among those who are engaged or interested in quilting; to stimulate an interest in quilting; to promote and advance the art of quilt making; and to present educational programs and services in the design and techniques for quiltmaking.
We meet the third Tuesday of every month from September through May (except December) at 7:00 pm at the Redeemer United Methodist Church, 20633 Vernier Rd, Harper Woods, MI. Doors open at 6:15 pm so that you can visit our extensive library and meet with other members. Membership is $25 per year and includes 6 issues of our guild newsletter, “Patches & Pieces”. A fee of $5.00 is charged for each guest.
Kathy Conner of Smith Street Designs will give a lecture accompanied by a Power Point
presentation on including machine embroidery in
your quilts. She will have her digitized patterns for
sale at our meeting. They are beautiful.

The crazy quilt blocks that are shown below are only a couple of the many crazy quilt blocks that were stolen from Sew Together's shop in Richmond, in May. In addition to the quilt blocks, the red top belonging to a customer was also stolen at the same time.
The crazy quilt blocks represent, hours and hours of handwork, and contained heirloom laces and buttons. They are irreplacible.
The red top had hours of work into it, and was waiting to be machine quilted.
